Fabric is something that has a huge part in our daily lives. Without fabric existing we would not have clothes to wear on our backs, or the out there designs that we see today that are popular. Also, people like Kendal Jenner or Bella Hadid wouldn’t have a job because they are in a sense ambassadors for showing fabrics. The fashion industry itself would not be in existence, and we would essentially be back in the stone age when we didn’t wear any clothes at all. It is a very interesting think to think about because as individuals, fabric really helps to express who we are.

Thinking about my own fabric choices as a customer, I think about what the fabric is made out of whenever I buy something new. Subconsciously, when I go into a store I can look at a piece of clothing and say whether or not the fabric is cheaply or well made. Based on this, the way that I look at fabric is very different to other people because they might not care or aren’t as into fashion. Fashion is a huge part of my identity and looking in my closet I know that all the fabrics I own are unapologetically me.
There are a lot of athletic, cotton, and basic everyday fabrics in my closest. Because of that I think that I prefer fabrics that are moveable, functional, and can just stay together when I wear most of them every day. My choice in fabrics impact my style in the way that it is unique to me, and most of my clothes for that reason makes me feel confident. Some days I will wear my leggings and a workout shirt, but other days all I want to do is wear my favorite jeans and a cute top. I decide what fabrics to put on my body really based on what my mood is in the morning or what I have to do during that specific day. Fabric is something that might never not exist, it will always be in my life and every person in the years to come.
